The client is a large commercial real estate operator in Iceland, managing several retail complexes and shopping malls nationwide. For a newly renovated shopping mall in Reykjavík, they sought modern, reliable, and welcoming seating solutions to improve the customer experience and enhance the mall’s overall environment.

After comparing suppliers from Europe and Asia, the customer chose to work with us due to our strong manufacturing ability in large-scale commercial sofas, flexible customization service, and proven track record in international project delivery.

During the initial discussions, the client outlined several specific needs:

1. A modern, minimalist design suitable for public rest areas in a shopping mall.

2. Commercial-grade durability, as the sofas would be used by a high volume of visitors every day.

In addition, the layout of each rest area varied, so the client requested slight dimensional adjustments and modular configurations to ensure the best fit in each space.

3. Customization & Design Process

To meet the client’s expectations, our design team provided multiple tailored solutions:

• Fabric & Leather Options: Considering Iceland’s climate, we recommended durable, stain-resistant technical leather and high-resilience fabric suitable for high-traffic areas.

• Comfort Optimization: Cushion firmness and backrest height were adjusted to ensure comfort for visitors with winter coats and outdoor gear.

• Structural Reinforcement: We upgraded the internal frame with steel-braced wooden construction to ensure long-term stability.

• Color Planning: The customer selected two neutral color schemes — cool grey and deep ocean blue — to complement the mall’s Nordic-inspired interior design.

• Sample Approval: A prototype was produced and shipped for physical evaluation before mass production began.

4. Production & Quality Assurance

Once the design was finalized, the order entered our batch production system. Our QC team implemented strict inspections at each stage:

• Upholstery durability tests

• Wear resistance checks on the selected technical leather

• Frame stability and weight-bearing testing

• Stitching and seam strength inspections

• Final product examination before packaging

The production of all 80 sets was completed within 25 days, meeting the customer’s project schedule.

Shipping to Iceland required careful logistics planning due to long-distance sea transport and weather-related concerns. Our logistics team arranged:
