The client — a mid-sized youth hostel brand with multiple branches across the U.S. — was upgrading its dormitory rooms to attract younger, design-conscious travelers.
The management team wanted to replace outdated metal beds with modern, capsule-style wooden bunk beds that offered:

2. Design & Customization Process

The MEI YI Furniture design team collaborated closely with the client’s interior designer to develop a capsule-style wooden bunk bed that balanced both aesthetics and practicality.

Key design features included:

• Engineered wood structure with E1-grade environmental certification

• Reinforced metal frame support to ensure long-term stability

• Built-in safety guardrails and anti-slip ladder for guest security

3. Production & Quality Control

All 150 bunk beds were manufactured in MEI YI’s 25,000 m² ISO- and FSC-certified facility.
The production followed a strict quality assurance process, including:

• Material inspection: E1-grade engineered wood and reinforced steel frames

• Load-bearing and durability tests to meet U.S. hospitality standards

• Surface treatment check for smooth edges and consistent finish

• Assembly verification for easy installation by the local contractor

To ensure flawless delivery, every piece was carefully packaged with foam corner guards and moisture-proof wrapping before container loading.

4. Delivery & Installation

The project was completed within 35 working days.
Shipment was arranged from Guangzhou Port to Los Angeles, where the client’s logistics team handled local transportation and installation.

MEI YI provided detailed installation manuals and remote video guidance, which helped the on-site crew complete the setup efficiently.
