1. Project Background

In early 2025, a German company operating in the automotive parts sector reached out to us while upgrading their workshop storage system. Their production facility needed 50 tool cabinets that could handle frequent use, store precision tools securely, and withstand the demanding environment of an industrial workspace.

The customer was experienced in purchasing industrial equipment and had clear specifications. They first contacted several European suppliers but found the delivery time too long due to material shortages. After reviewing our product catalog and certifications (ISO/CE), they decided to further discuss cooperation with MEI YI Furniture.

2. Client Requirements & Initial Discussion

During the first meeting, the customer outlined their essential requirements:

• Heavy-duty steel construction, minimum thickness 0.9–1.2 mm

• High load-bearing drawers, at least 40–50 kg per drawer

• Anti-rust powder coating suitable for factory humidity

• Central locking mechanism for tool security

• Smooth slide runners for daily high-frequency use

• Custom labeling areas to support German workshop management systems

The client also requested that all materials be compliant with EU safety and environmental standards, which aligned with our existing manufacturing capabilities (E1 material, certified coating technology).

3. Customized Design Proposal

Based on their requirements, we proposed a tool cabinet model featuring:

• Fully welded 1.0 mm cold-rolled steel body

• Reinforced drawer base plates

• Ball-bearing slides for high-load smooth operation

• Electrostatic powder coating in RAL7016 anthracite grey, a common industrial color in Europe

• Optional anti-tilt system to prevent multiple drawers being opened simultaneously

To ensure accuracy, our engineering team created detailed CAD drawings and a 3D rendering, which the customer reviewed and approved quickly.

4. Sample Testing & Confirmation

Before placing the full order, the customer requested one sample unit for stress testing in their German workshop.

We shipped the sample within 15 days. Their technical team performed tests for:

• Drawer weight capacity

• Slide stability

• Lock durability

• Coating scratch resistance

• Overall structural rigidity

After one week of evaluation, the customer confirmed the sample met all industrial requirements and placed the final order for 50 units.

5. Production & Quality Control

The production process was executed in our 10+ advanced manufacturing lines, with strict QC:

• Steel sheet inspection prior to laser cutting

• Automated bending for precise drawer shaping

• Powder coating thickness check to meet European standards

• Full assembly inspection for drawer alignment and noise control

• 100% load-bearing test for every cabinet

We also added serial number labels to support the client’s internal tracking.

Weekly production updates and photos ensured transparency throughout the process.

6. Packaging & Shipping to Germany

Given the weight and value of the tool cabinets, we implemented reinforced packaging:

• Individual bubble wrap and foam protection

• Double-layer export cartons

• Extra wooden framing for palletized loading

• Anti-rust bags inside drawers during transport

The goods were shipped via FCL from Qingdao to Hamburg. We prepared all necessary export documents, including CE compliance statements and HS code certificates.

7. Customer Feedback & Continued Cooperation

After installation in their workshop, the German client reported:

• Very stable structure

• Smooth-running heavy-duty drawers

• Clean and uniform industrial coating finish

• Accurate adherence to the agreed size and load requirements

They later expressed interest in ordering matching steel workbenches and mobile tool carts to expand their facility’s storage system, marking the beginning of long-term cooperation.
